A message from our founder
Six years ago, I asked Rupert Younger to become Chairman of Exton Park Vineyard. We needed to create a strategy to capture the opportunity presented by the special wines that we create here in our 60 acres of Hampshire. Rupert brought with him the experience and perspective to put this in place.
Rupert worked with the executive team on the early signposts of this strategy before appointing Guy Lawrence, David Phelps and Nicola Arcedeckne-Butler to join the Board in 2020. Guy, David and Nicola are highly respected and talented individuals, each of whom brought unique and valuable skills to the Board. We are all deeply grateful to Rupert and the non-executives for their wise counsel and energy.
In this last three years, we have refreshed the brand; built a powerful position within the on and off trade markets, opening accounts with some of the UK’s most prestigious restaurants and hotels; and appointed a Chief Executive to lead the executive team. The momentum that this has created now puts us in an excellent position to move forward in our aim to become one of the leading privately owned luxury vineyards in England.
We have, therefore, decided to move forward under a new governance structure, one that reflects this private estate focus. Rupert, Guy, David and Nicola will therefore be stepping down at the end of June 2023, and the vineyard will going forward be run by the executive team reporting directly to me.
I would like to put on record my thanks for everything that Rupert, Guy, David and Nicola have contributed to Exton Park Vineyard. We have much to thank them for as we embark on the next phase of our growth.
